Last Sunday (16 October) saw the Garrison take part in the annual commemoration of the Battle of El Alamien that is put on by the village of Enham Alamein in Hampshire. To find out why a small English village has such an exotic name, check out the Enham website.
Ably supported by various friends, the Garrison was able to provide two full gun-sets, a Dingo armoured car, a K2 truck, a jeep, anAustin staff car and a 1943 Matchless motorcycle. The twenty-odd mile convoy from Larkhill to Enham, though the beautiful Wiltshire and Hampshire countryside on a glorious autumn day was truly magical. The firing display at Enham was also highly enjoyable. Overall, this event was one of those that just seemed to work out perfectly and it was a real privilege to be part of it.
